The Gentle Art of Alkaline Child Care

Inspired by Peter Jentschura’s “Health by Purification” and real-life experience

Recently, I had a deeply touching experience while working with a friend and her little child. The child suffered from a severe rash in the genital area — red, inflamed, and uncomfortable. Instead of turning to creams or medication, we decided to return to the simple wisdom of alkaline bathing.I remembered what Peter Jentschura described in his book “Health by Purification”: even for small children, a mild alkaline bath can be a wonderful support for the skin. His guideline is simple — one heaping teaspoon of alkaline bath carbonates in about 20 liters of warm water is enough.
The water doesn’t burn in the eyes, doesn’t dry out the skin, and is gentle even for babies.

What Happened Next

My friend turned this into a small daily ritual. The little one was encouraged to play in the water — with toys, songs, and laughter — for at least 45 minutes (actually th longer the better). After just a few days, the skin began to change. The redness reduced, the irritation softened, and the child started sleeping calmly again.
No medication. No creams. Just water, minerals, and time.

“Healing can begin when we return to simplicity — when we allow nature to work through us, not against us.”

The Wisdom Behind It

Alkaline baths work through a natural process of neutralization and release. The skin — our largest organ — becomes a gentle excretory surface where acids and metabolic residues can be released. For children, this happens especially softly, because their skin still has an incredible ability to regenerate. That’s why Peter Jentschura often described alkaline care as a return to the body’s original wisdom.

Why I Share This

This story is not about bringing people to our place or promoting long alkaline retreats. It’s about sharing knowledge — the kind that changes how we care for ourselves and our loved ones. Just as we once discovered the power of alkaline water and bathing, I wish for more families to rediscover this ancient, loving ritual of cleansing and renewal.

Let’s bring bathing back into everyday (or weekly) life  — not as a luxury, but as a way to connect, to heal, and to remember.
