We live in a world full of speed, stimulation, and constant demands. In the middle of all this, we often forget that our body depends on a very delicate balance: the relationship between acids and bases. Since we, as Bathmasters, have made bathing a steady part of our daily lives again, we experience every day how strongly this balance influences our health, our energy, and even our thoughts. Over-acidification is not a buzzword – it is a silent process that takes place in every single cell and one that we all feel when we fall out of balance.
1. The Basic Principle of Acid-Base Balance
Every cell in our body functions optimally only when it lives in a slightly alkaline environment. This alkaline environment is the foundation for regeneration, energy production, and self-healing. The body works continuously to neutralize and eliminate acids. But when the load becomes too great – due to diet, stress, or emotional tension – this balance begins to falter. Both Peter Jentschura and BioLeo describe the human being as naturally alkaline, but modern lifestyle and mental patterns pull us out of this original order.
2. How Over-Acidification Develops in Daily Life – The Bathmaster Concept
From our experience as Bathmasters, over-acidification begins primarily in the mind. Our concept assumes that 70 percent of all acids are mental in origin – they arise from thoughts, worries, stress, and emotional overload. 15 percent come from nutrition – acid-forming foods, sugar, coffee, alcohol – and another 15 percent from physical exertion or sports, when there is not enough recovery afterward. This perspective shows that over-acidification is far more than a biochemical issue. Thoughts and emotions act like invisible acid generators: chronic stress, anger, or fear alter the cell metabolism, reduce oxygen uptake, and create inner imbalance. The way back to harmony therefore begins not only on the plate, but in the mind – through calmness, awareness, and loving mental hygiene.
3. Cellular Over-Acidification – What Happens Inside the Body?
When the body can no longer completely eliminate acids, it neutralizes and temporarily stores them in the tissues. These so-called “slags” or crystalline deposits interfere with metabolism, cell respiration, and the flow of energy. Peter Jentschura speaks of the “inner waste disposal system,” while BioLeo describes the same phenomenon as a system that releases acids through the skin when the right environment is created. Over-acidification doesn’t appear overnight – it develops slowly, showing itself through exhaustion, pain, skin problems, or emotional instability.
4. Signs of Chronic Over-Acidification
The symptoms are as diverse as they are personal: persistent fatigue, muscle tension, impure skin, hair loss, joint discomfort, PMS, mood swings, sleep disturbances, or emotional irritability. The body is calling for relief – and the answer is often not found in a pill, but in conscious de-acidification and care for our inner environment.
5. Why the Skin Is Our Largest De-Acidifying Organ
The skin is much more than just a protective shell – it is a living detox organ. It is often called the “third kidney”, because through sweat and osmotic processes, it can release excess acids. When we bathe in alkaline water, the pores open, the skin begins to breathe, and the body uses this pathway to eliminate acids and metabolic residues. You can feel the difference: after a long alkaline bath, the body feels lighter, clearer, more relaxed – as if something heavy has been released.
6. Alkaline Bathing – The Body’s Natural Response
Alkaline bathing is not a modern invention but a return to an ancient principle. For centuries, monastic cultures and natural traditions have used bathing for healing and purification. In a long alkaline bath (1 hour or more), the body can neutralize and release acids through the skin. The skin works while the mind lets go. We recommend a water temperature just below body temperature (but as low as comfortable), along with plenty of quiet and time – because de-acidification does not happen in stress, but in surrender. After the bath: rest, warmth, and ideally a glass of alkaline water. In these moments, deep regeneration unfolds – not only physically, but also emotionally.
7. The Vision: Returning to a Natural Alkaline Culture
Our vision is clear: bathing should once again become part of everyday life – not just for cleansing, but for healing. The human being is an alkaline organism, and water is the key to restoring this natural order. Those who bathe regularly in an alkaline environment feel how body, mind, and soul come back into harmony. This is lived self-healing – not through pressure or perfection, but through mindfulness, trust, and surrender to nature. We invite you to make bathing a ritual again – one that reconnects you with your inner balance. Because true de-acidification always begins the moment you reconnect with yourself.
