You organise travel, the route to the island and accommodation yourself — here’s what we know: Getting there & where to stay
Where you bathe
Eight pools, one palm-leaf roof. Milky-white water, otherwise silence.
Eight pools under one palm-leaf roof, four years of people in the water, more than 1,000 guided baths. The carbonates make the water milky — it screens you from view and wraps around you at the same time.

Pools under the palm roof — taken at the bathhouse
Sage smudging — before every bathing day, for the space and the person
Juices and teas — from Aye’s kitchen, throughout the day
Privacy is a rule, not a promise.
People bathe naked in the pools. The milky water acts as a privacy screen — no one will or should see you naked. Anyone leaving or getting back into the pool says the code word “Toilet”: at that moment, all guests and the team turn away. Photos and videos are prohibited throughout the pool area, and phones stay off.
The team helps with practical assistance and guidance — never with physical intent. Anyone who crosses these boundaries has to leave. This is set out in the house rules you sign on the first morning.

Carbonates in the bowl — you add them to the water yourself

If you’re travelling alone
Alone as a woman. What applies, what’s still open.
The privacy rules apply to everyone, without exception. Anything we can’t yet say for certain, we’ll clarify with you personally before your bathing day.
What applies
- Your own pool: only one person ever bathes in each pool — pools are never shared
- Milky water as a privacy screen, the code word “Toilet” when getting out and back in — everyone turns away
- No photos, no videos, no phones in the pool area
- The team helps with practical assistance and guidance, never with physical intent; any advances lead to exclusion
- Female points of contact: Victoria and Aye
- Once a month, the “Full Moon Women's Day” — women only, full moon, 8:00 to 20:00
What we clarify with you personally
How many guests bathe on the same day, and whether swimwear is possible — we’ll answer that for you personally before your bathing day.
Next full moons
- being calculated
Calculated, ±1 day. We’ll confirm whether a Women's Day takes place on a given full moon when we reply to your enquiry.

Six steps. None of them is a booking until we say so.
This is how it works for every guest. The times of the day are on the bathing day page.

Preparation
After your enquiry, we personally send you the house rules, the disclaimer and everything you need to know before your first bathing day. Read the house rules

Before you enquire
The key questions. Answered honestly.
Do I need to have watched the video or done a course first?
No. You can come without any prior knowledge. In the morning, the Bathmaster gives you an introduction, and throughout the day you are never alone with the water.
When can I bathe?
During our bathing periods — the next dates are at the top of the page and under Getting there. Outside these, only for groups by arrangement.
Is a single bathing day enough?
One day is a beginning: the body first has to relearn how to use the skin as an organ of elimination, and most people don’t notice a big difference afterwards. Two days are more intensive. Gunther expressly recommends three days or more. No promise of healing — experiential knowledge from more than 1,000 guided baths.
Do I have to bathe naked?
People bathe naked in the pools; the milky water is your privacy screen, and the code word “Toilet” is the rule when getting out and back in. We’ll clarify with you personally whether swimwear is possible in an individual case.
I have a pre-existing condition or take medication. Can I come?
Talk to your doctor first. We are Bathmasters, not doctors: we don’t make diagnoses, don’t give medical instructions and don’t replace a visit to the doctor. You decide, on your own responsibility, whether to bathe.
Is accommodation included?
No. You sleep wherever you like and come to the bathhouse in the morning. What we know about routes and accommodation is under Getting there & where to stay.
How do I pay?
Cash on the morning of the first day, in THB or EUR, or in advance by bank transfer, Wise, PayPal or USDC — all options, with account details, are under Payment methods. For a confirmed reservation, you can pay a deposit. Without a deposit, your pool is not firmly secured. We only secure your pool for you once you have paid in full or paid a deposit.
What if I itch after the bath?
It happens. In our experience, the pores close when you leave the pool, and residues can itch — this is not medical advice. Options: sit it out (often one to three days), a sauna and a long shower, or a follow-up bath, usually two to four hours, at a quarter of the day rate, paid before you start, subject to availability.
What languages are spoken?
German, English, Russian, Thai and Burmese.
Is there a minimum age?
Yes, 18 — you confirm this in your enquiry.
Can I bring my phone?
Not into the pool area. Phones, laptops and headphones stay off — not aeroplane mode, really off. Photos and videos are prohibited throughout the pool area.
Is your question missing? Write to info@alkaline-bathing.com — we reply personally.
Your next step
Enquire about a stay. An enquiry, not a booking.
